Telemedicine significantly enhances access to universal healthcare by enabling remote consultations with physicians, thus eliminating the need for long and costly travel and bridging the healthcare gap between urban and rural populations.
The Department of Public Health, Medical Services and ICT held productive discussions with representatives from 19Labs, California, and DTT Technologies Africa on launching the Tharaka Nithi County Telemedicine program, making it one of only three counties in Kenya to pilot this initiative.
