The County Department of Water and Irrigation, led by CEC Njue Njagi and Chief Officer Loise Mutua joined Tana Water Works Development Agency Management Team and other stakeholders including Kenya Forest Service for a tree planting exercise in Nandago Hills, Igambang’ombe Ward. Together, the team planted 10,000 indigenous tree seedlings, harnessing the on-going rains to improve our county’s forest cover.
This effort aligns with the National Government’s plan to plant 15 billion trees by 2032, a move aimed at reducing greenhouse emissions, stopping and reversing deforestation, and restoring 5.1 million hectares of deforested and degraded landscapes. #LeavingNoOneBehind
