This 12th of August, 2019, Tharaka Nithi County joins the world in the annual commemoration of International Youth Day. This year’s theme is ‘Tranforming Education’

Education is a tool of self-reliance. The biggest quest amongst us as youth is the need for self-reliance and self-sustainability. Increased joblessness has highly affected our quest for financial freedom.

The County Government of Tharaka Nithi, in its mission to find a lasting solution to the increasing challenge of youth unemployment, will hence reinforce it’s pivotal role in linking our youth with various opportunities for decent work and entrepreneurship.

This year, the County Government of Tharaka Nithi, through the Department of Youth Affairs, is working in coordination with the National Government to create a platform that will ensure that all our youth access MbeleNaBiz grant.

MbeleNaBiz Grant is a business plan competition- an initiative of GoK through the Kenya Youth Employment & Opportunities Project (KYEOP) whose main objective is to expand new and existing youth led businesses that have high growth potential. The target group is youth between the ages of 18 – 35 years

Up to KES 3.6 Million is up for grabs for Youth with business ideas. Successful applicants with the best business plans, who shall be determined through a rigorous vetting by KPMG, will be awarded a grant of between KES 900,000 to KES 3,600,000.

For, those with no access to internet, application forms shall be available in various sub-county and ward administration offices in the course of this week. Duly filled forms should also be dropped at the same offices.

The public is notified that all applications are FREE. This Call for applications is open up to the 2nd of September 2019.
