Empowering women in Partnership with Kenyatta University

Empowering women in a community is empowering the whole nation.

In collaboration with Kenyatta University through a research program dubbed, Initiative of What Works for Women Economic Empowerment (IWWWEE) sponsored by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, our people are set to benefit from the women economic empowerment initiative to uplift the lives of women in all corners of the Tharaka Nithi County.

Today, H.E Muthomi Njuki held a meeting with a delegation from the University led by their Vice-Chancellor Prof Paul Wainaina where they deliberated on various workable execution strategies to research on areas that capture empowerment of women through programs that also include the children and other members of the family unit.

Tharaka Nithi County Government is availing the necessary research tools and playing other roles that will ensure the success of this life touching program aiming at covering more women by introducing the crèche project in other County markets and some schools as well as putting in place a policy that will guide future stakeholders to execute the mandate seamlessly.
