Operationalization of the first berth of the 32-berth seaport

Tharaka Nithi County stands to benefit from the Lamu port which is expected to serve Northern Ethiopia, South Sudan, Zanzibar, and Mozambique.
The Lamu Port with a capacity of 80,000 containers, is one of the key components of the Lamu Port-South Sudan-Ethiopia-Transport Corridor (LAPSSET) project, alongside Rail and Road Networks, Oil pipeline that will all pass through Tharaka Nithi, among others will steer the country into a commercial and transport hub.
Together with colleague Governors and other leaders, H.E Muthomi Njuki accompanied His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta in presiding over the operationalization of the first berth of the 32-berth seaport at Lamu port.
