The Kenya Informal Settlements Improvement Project (KISIP) National Project Coordination Team held a consultative meeting today with County officials led by Deputy Governor H.E Muisrael Nyaga, paving way for the commencement of activities under the second component of the project in Tharaka Nithi. The second component of the project focuses on social inclusion, singling out Labor Intensive Community Works (LICWs) that will not only improve the infrastructure around informal settlements but provide employment for our young people. In partnership with the Aquaculture Business Development Programme (ABDP), the County Administration is committed to fostering a positive shift in local attitudes toward fish rearing and consumption.To support this initiative, the County Department of Fisheries has organized fish fair events across all constituencies running from April 11th to 16th 2024. These events provide valuable insights into fish pond management, production, marketing, and value addition.
