- Kirumi Kiamujari costing 254.7M
The Department of Irrigation under the County Government provides supervision and staff for the programme through the County Coordinating Unit (CCU).
Today was a great day as the County Government welcomed the ADB, World Bank, and some 11 African countries representatives who came to visit the SIVAPs.
This was done in conjunction with the PIU (Project Implementing Unit – in Nairobi).
The exercise kicked off with a presentation at Governors office in Kathwana followed by a field visit to the intake, demonstration farm and command area ending with a farmers’ baraza at Makanyanga.
Deputy Governor Eng. Francis Kagwima, officials from Tharaka Nithi County Government, elected leaders and residents of Makanyanga and Marembo welcomed the good tidings bearing visitors to the site.
It is expected the project will increase agricultural productivity leading to food security and poverty reduction among our people.
